Pros +
1. It just may be the only "true cure" to genetic diseases. It is the only known technique that involves effectively altering the faulty gene and correcting it so that it may function normally. Although risky, it seems very practical.
2. With germline gene therapy, researchers have the ability to prevent genetic diseases in future generations by targeting the sex cells of the fetus, erasing the genetic defect from the family altogether. More so, gene therapy has the ability to save lives and provide happiness to many families.
3. This one involves the ethical codes of doctors. Some argue that doctors should do anything they can to help people who are sick. So if people are suffering from genetic diseases, shouldn't doctors be willing to use this technique?
